DIY: Strawberry Yogurt Face Mask

I love to wear a face mask~ one of my favourite is My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask. But, unfortunately it is kind hard to get that mask in Indonesia. Because of that, recently I tried to make my own strawberry yogurt mask by myself. Today I will share the recipe for you. I'm sure many of you already familiar with this recipe. Because, many beauty bloggers are already shared this recipe before. But, still I want to share this for my followers~

Strawberry Yogurt Mask For Oily Skin

What you'll need:
4-5 pieces fresh strawberries
1-2 tablespoon plain yogurt
Small bowl, Fork, and Face brush

Step by Step:
1. Wash the strawberries and remove the leaves
2-3. Put into small bowl and mash it with a fork
4. After that add 1(or 2, depends on how big are your strawberries) tablespoon of yogurt and mixed them
5. Use face brush and apply the mask all over the face
6.Wait until 15 minutes and then clean your face with warm water

Why Strawberry?
Strawberries contain salicylic acid which rids the skin of dead cells and makes your face look brighter. Strawberry also helps strengthen the skin immunity and rejuvenates it by removing the impurities and blemishes on face, They also contain significant levels of phytonutrients and antioxidants, which fight free radicals. (Source: here and here)

Why Yogurt?
Yogurt has antifungal and antibacterial qualities, so it is useful for cleansing the skin and unblocking clogged pores. Also plain low-fat or whole-milk yogurt contains lactic acid, which softens the skin, reduces wrinkles and hydrates dry areas. (Source: here)

The result on my skin?
I used this mask twice a week for 3 weeks already. Usually I will leave the mask for 15 minutes before I rinse it with warm water. The result is quite good for me. After I cleanse my face, I can feel my skin become supple and matte. It also helps to control excess sebum until the next day. The smell of the yogurt maybe wuite annoying for some people (me is one of those people) but when you mixed it with strawberries, all you can smell is the strawberries lol *of course la~* It also gives me a cool feeling when I use this mask (eventhough I'm not stored it in refrigerator). And the mask will become a little hard after some minutes. So, yes there will be a tight feeling on your face when you use this face mask.

My Opinion?
Though I always love sheet face mask (because it is easy to use), I think my first experience with handmade face mask isn't bad at all~ I enjoyed the process of making the mask and I like the result. Furthermore, all the ingredients are natural (I mean no chemical mixture of other ingredients that we don't know) and the price is cheap~ you can store the remaining ingredients and make another face mask (but don't keep it to long or it  will expired)

Bonus~
My little boy with strawberry hehehe

    1. It works great on my skin. with a patience i think my skin condition will improve. But sometimes when I'm lazy I prefer to use mask sheet instead of handmade mask :p
